Choosing and using the proper sealing devices within oil and gas applications can be vital when preventing dirt, dust, water, and other debris from potentially getting inside and contaminating products. 

It is critically important that you choose the appropriate seal for an application. The seals should be ordered from a manufacturer of high repute. To get the best seals, it is important to give accurate design specifications. We describe the difference between mechanical seal and oil seal here.

Unthinkable in the list of seals are oil seals, which provide a seal against splashing oil. The most important oil seals are used for rotating shafts and valve stem seals. Oil seals are intentionally never completely sealed to lubricate the seals and prevent wear.

Repeat the process of installing oil seals for any other locations where they are required. Be sure to follow the same steps for each installation to ensure a leak-free performance.

What materials are available?

On most cars you need to remove several parts to get at the seal.
