These profiles are taken through a special surface treatment module to attain the ideal surface finishing. It varies based on user preference and actual setting of the windows and doors.

Under moist and salty environments, mill finishes aluminum profiles for windows and doors tend to oxidize a lot.

Finally, test the screen door by opening and closing it a few times. It should glide smoothly without any resistance or noise. If everything operates correctly, congratulations! You’ve successfully repaired your screen door rollers.

The profile is bent with both hands, and the twisting strength is good, and it can be restored after loosening your hands. If the strength of the aluminium profile is not enough, it is easy to be deformed, which may result in unqualified wind pressure resistance level, the finished switch is not smooth, and the deformation amount is too large.

Temper

Post caps are another place where cost cuts can be made.  Lots of manufacturers will use a stamped steel standard cap which is easier to produce and squish on the top of the post.  For the more decorative ball style post caps, some will make them out of aluminum, or worse, plastic.  Our Stronghold Iron fence line uses cast iron caps for both styles that you can see in the photos below.  The cast iron gives it a nice textured and authentic appearance.
